Brewers, Bucks to see fan capacity increase

May 11, 2021 By Bill Scott

The Milwaukee Brewers and Milwaukee Bucks are increasing fan capacity at American Family Field and Fiserv Forum increase from 25% to 50% capacity.  The increase for the Brewers will be effective beginning with Saturday’s game against the Atlanta Braves, while the Bucks increase at Fiserv Forum will become effective with the start of the NBA Playoffs later this month.

The Health Department’s new guidelines today grant higher capacities for businesses in Milwaukee County that have submitted an approved safety plan.

Fans will still be required to wear face coverings at all times when inside Fiserv Forum, except when actively eating or drinking.  Tickets will continue to be sold in pods.

Brewers to open season with fans

March 4, 2021 By Bill Scott

The Milwaukee Brewers will start the 2021 season with a 25% capacity of fans at American Family Field.  The team expects to have between 11,000 and 12,000 fans in the seats for the April 1st season opener against the Minnesota Twins.

The Brewers made the announcement Thursday morning after reaching agreement with the City of Milwaukee Health Department.  The team had requested 35% capacity in a report to health officials last month.

The announcement will be a welcomed change for the players, who played a pandemic shortened 60-game season in 2020 without fans.

The Milwaukee Health Department didn’t approve pre-game tailgating in the parking lot however.  That will certainly be a disappointment for fans.

Brewers Season Seat Holders and Suite Holders will be contacted about their options for attending games in the next week.  Information on tickets to individual games will be announced at a later date.

Brewers to have new ballpark name in 2021

January 22, 2020 By Bill Scott

Miller Park

The home of the Milwaukee Brewers, Miller Park, gets a new name starting in 2021.

Miller Park becomes American Family Field starting January 1, 2021.

The name change is part of a long-term sponsorship agreement between American Family and the Brewers, announced one year ago.  The agreement includes American Family having naming rights for the ballpark beginning in 2021 and continuing for 15 years.

The ballpark logo and other branding elements will be announced later this year.

As part of the sponsorship agreement, American Family also acquired naming rights to the Brewers spring training complex in Maryvale, Arizona.  That complex, which completed an extensive renovation last year, is named American Family Fields of Phoenix.
